Annual Giving
The Griffin Fund
The Griffin Fund comprises all donations to Westminster School. This fund is a vital component of the school’s income and continued success as an independent school. While tuition pays for the basic program and operation of Westminster, The Griffin Fund helps lift school offerings above “basic,” and directly benefits the students in a number of important ways: To enhance technology, learning materials, curriculum expansions, and field trips/activities that support our teachers’ efforts and our students’ experience inside and outside the classroom; To further develop capital projects. To help fund scholarships for outstanding students from the surrounding community who would not otherwise receive the life-changing gift of a classical education.
You can make a difference with your gift to the Griffin Fund!
With its inspiring curriculum, passionate teachers, and many opportunities for self-discovery, Westminster School is an extraordinary place. After this rich and challenging experience, our graduates emerge with the strength of character and intellectual curiosity to lead highly fulfilling and purpose driven lives. As the head of a highly respected area high school once said to us, “Westminster students don’t just come to us prepared, they come prepared to lead.”
If we are to ensure that such an exemplary school continues to provide an empowering experience for its students, we must all come together in enthusiastic and sustained support. In that spirit, we are announcing the TBD With a goal of TBD, this essential campaign will help the school meet the costs of all the “extras” that make Westminster so incredible—enrichment classes, exciting field trips, up-to-date technology, our transformative drama program, the STEAM makerspace, compensation for our wonderful teachers, and so much more!
Giving Days
Westminster Giving Day. On April 23, we ask our entire community—current families and staff, alumni and their parents, and friends of the school—to donate to Westminster School. There is no other school like Westminster, so let’s give generously in support of this wonderful school which provides such an extraordinary education for its students!
We chose April 23 as our special day because it’s also Shakespeare’s Birthday. What better way to champion Westminster’s love of the classics than to ally with the Bard himself?
We hope that every Westminster graduate for many decades past remembers Shakespeare’s birthday fondly—memorizing sonnets and speeches to deliver in the courtyard while toasting the great man—and, of course, taking that amazing ride that is the 7th -grade Shakespeare play. These traditions are still happening at Westminster School, along with many other experiences that enrich the lives of our students. “There is a tide in the affairs of men, which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune” (Julius Caesar). Let’s raise the tide on Westminster Giving Day—give generously!
